Your Home, Reimagined

Turning Your Home Into Your Dream Holiday

Because we all deserve to check in without checking out.

There’s something so magical about arriving at a beautiful resort (my personal Instagram highlight tours are proof) — the crisp sheets, the thoughtful details, the feeling that everything is ready and waiting for you to simply live and enjoy.

But here’s a secret — your home can give you that very same feeling, if you design it to.

Over the years, I’ve cultivated little luxuries and habits that make my own home feel like the resort of my dreams. These touches are about more than aesthetics — they’re about intention, care, and treating everyday life as something worth savoring.

The Turndown Touch

A hotel turndown service isn’t really about the chocolate on the pillow (though I won’t say no — it is one of my favorite parts). It’s about creating a sense of readiness for rest.

Before bed, smooth your linens, fluff your pillows, and set out a glass of water. My nightstand tray stays stocked like a boutique hotel’s — lotion, lip balm, a trinket box for jewelry, and a fresh book. If you want to go all in, lay out tomorrow’s outfit, steamed and ready to slip on.

Stock Your Favorites

For me, this means always having a bottle of sparkling water chilling in the fridge and a few favorite indulgences close by. Your “always stocked” list might look different — maybe it’s your favorite tea, journal, fresh flowers, or a bar of luxury chocolate.

The key is consistency. Try keeping everything contained on a tray, shelf, or in a box — it’s easier to maintain and see when things need restocking. Clean, clutter-free spaces make for a more restful mind and help you actually enjoy your own home.

Keep the Surfaces Intentional

The beauty of a resort lies in its clarity — no clutter, no chaos. Take a few minutes each day (or a weekend afternoon) to clear, purge, and reset your main surfaces: kitchen counters, nightstands, and bathroom vanities.

Think of it like you’re arriving at your favorite getaway. Where would you set your toiletry bag? Where would you place the fresh market finds you’ve just brought in? Leave enough space in your home for the living — for bowls of fruit on the counter, a basket of bottled water and fresh towels by the gym, or a vase of flowers waiting to greet you.

Elevate the Everyday

Fresh, plush towels and crisp linens are my non-negotiables. I rotate them weekly and keep a simple, elegant room spray in both the bedroom and bath.

After one particularly lovely hotel stay, I splurged on their thick towels and custom fig-scented shampoo and conditioner — now every shower feels like a resort moment. During early 2020, when travel slowed, I even invested in Japanese toilets for our main bathrooms — a “want,” not a need, but such a nod to true resort living.

Over the past 15 years, we’ve slowly built our home gym into something that feels more like a country club than a basement — complete with sauna, pilates reformer, bike, free weights, pull-up tower, and even a punching bag (because: balance).

Play Concierge for Yourself

Plan ahead for your own joy. I love when past me looks out for future me. She tucks surprises into pockets, leaves snacks in handbags, and preps little treats for later.

Maybe that’s stuffing olives with creamy Maytag blue cheese for evening cocktails, leaving a bouquet of flowers on your vanity, or arranging your weekend “itinerary” — a long bath, a walk, and an hour to read by the pool with a chilled glass of champagne.

The point is this: you deserve to live in the space you’ve worked so hard for — not just pass through it.

So check into your own home like it’s the most glamorous stay you’ve ever booked.

Because why wait for vacation to feel like you’re on one?
